A police officer with the Bristol Police Department, Bob Osborne joined the department after earning an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Tunxis Community College in Farmington, CT. In addition to pursuing his bachelor’s degree in criminology at Central Connecticut State University, Bob Osborne engages in his Farmington community and supports charitable organizations such as Vie for the Kids.

Vie for the Kids raises funds for clinical trials, treatment, and research at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, the only hospital in the state dedicated exclusively to the care of children. Vie for the Kids provides financial support for patients with pediatric cancer and their families through events such as the Joe Kelly Memorial 5K Road Race, which honors Joseph Kelly and his two-year battle with brain cancer.

Since beginning as a community event with around 200 friends and family members, the race has partnered with Vie for Kids to grow and reach more supporters. The 3.1-mile course begins at Lisbon Town Hall, and all event proceeds are directed to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
